Our children's department is open at all times for elective and urgent admissions. We also run a fast-track referral service, enabling your child to have a same-day or next-day appointment with a general paediatrician.

Your paediatric consultants

HCA UK's paediatric consultants specialise in common and complex conditions, from developmental disorders to cardiac care. Many of our consultants hold prominent positions at London's top teaching hospitals, with our young patients travelling from around the world to be treated by them.

At The Portland Hospital we have general paediatrians who are experienced in managing a wide range of common medical childhood conditions. We have highly experienced general paediatric surgeons who work with young patients who need surgery, from premature and unborn babies to toddlers and young adults.

We also have a large number of specialist consultants who work with children on conditions affecting certain areas of the body including gastroenterology, orthopaedics, endocrinology, urology and neurology.

Outpatients and diagnostic centres

Children visiting our HCA UK outpatient centres at The Portland Hospital will receive the very best of care, benefitting from our comprehensive range of paediatric specialities and diagnostic tests and scans.

 

Some of our Consultant paediatricians can also be seen outside of central London at our outpatient and diagnostic clinics in Chiswick, Golders Green or Elstree.

Focusing on your child's health

We understand that treating children for health conditions, needs a approach that focuses on all aspects of the child's development and growth. The paediatric treatment we provides often include multidisciplinary teams (MDT), who work closely with the parents,to support each child, these MDT's include clinical specialist nurses and support staff across all HCA UK paediatric sites. We also offer access to dietitians, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists and play specialists.

Working with charities

We're incredibly proud of our relationship with Chain of Hope, a charity bringing medical experts together to deliver life-saving heart treatments to children in developing and war-torn countries.

Urgent Care Centre for Children

Our Urgent Care Centre is for non-life threatening medical needs and minor conditions. Here, children aged 0-17 can receive the urgent care they need 365 days a year, through same-day, face-to-face appointments and video consultations.
 

We provide your child with rapid access to our rota of leading paediatricians, urgent care doctors and specialist nurses. GPs and nurses with expertise in emergency paediatric care run the centre and are able to diagnose and treat any acute or underlying serious condition your child might have. If its not an urgent visit you can make an appointment with one of our specialist paediatric care services.
