Mr Eric Nicholls is a Senior Consultant Paediatric General Surgeon, with a special interest in neonatal, and gastrointestinal, inguino-scrotal surgery and the provision of vascular access for long term parenteral nutrition or chemotherapy.
He often performs appendicectomies, cholecystectomies and fundoplications laparoscopically were appropriate, as well as performing percutatneous endoscopic gastrostomies for assisted nutrition.
Mr Nicholls manages some more common neonatal conditions including Hirchsprung’s disease, malrotation, atersias of the oesophagus, and bowel and necrotizing enterocolitis.
He is the educational lead and is an Honorary senior lecturer in Paediatric Surgery with St George’s Hospital Medical School, University of London. Mr Nicholls teaches undergraduate and postgraduate medical students on a weekly basis and also examines and lectures medical students several times a year.
Mr Nicholls is the Chairman of the Intercollegiate Board of Examiners in Paediatric surgery. He is also the Senior Journal Article Reviewer with the Journal of Paediatric Surgery, and a visiting lecturer to GPs at Imperial College London.
