Genetics of paediatric endocrine disease, paediatric Cushing’s syndrome. Adrenal and growth disorders.
Dr Helen Storr is a Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist. She studied medicine at Barts and the Royal London hospitals before training in paediatrics and then sub-specialising in paediatric endocrinology. She obtained a PhD in molecular endocrinology at the William Harvey Research Institute, Barts and the London School of Medicine funded by a Wellcome Trust Research Training Fellowship. She was awarded a HEFCE Clinical Senior Lecturer award and was appointed as a Clinical Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Endocrinology at Barts and the Royal London Hospital in 2007. In 2011, she was awarded the European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology (ESPE) Young Investigator Award and in 2014, she was promoted to Reader in Paediatric Endocrinology.
Dr Storr has a wide general experience in paediatric endocrinology and her key clinical interests include paediatric Cushing’s syndrome, disorders of growth and puberty and adrenal disorders. She has an active programme of clinical and laboratory research, which includes ongoing work into the molecular basis of adrenal disorders and leading an international genetic diagnostic service and clinical advisory role for patients with severe short stature.
